The Call of Wildness: A Journey Back to Nature

Robin Wang's Award-Winning Residential House Design

Robin Wang, a renowned designer, has breathed life into a unique residential house design, "The Call of Wildness". This design, inspired by primitivism art and earth art, is a testament to the creative instinct of human beings. The designer has successfully integrated Indian culture with a wild luxury style, interpreting modern western customs with rough texture and neat lines.

Each tribe in Indian culture has a unique totem symbol. Wang, combining this with Chinese calligraphy, has refined the shape of the Chinese characters and carved it into the wall, thereby interpreting the kind and loyal family spirit. The brass and cotton and linen materials shape a plain primitive style, and the symbol of tribal civilization is imprinted in every corner of the space.

The design is realized in sandstone brown, known as the color that kisses the earth, which runs through the whole space. This color choice turns home-coming into a journey back to nature. The house, spanning 287 square meters, is located in the Science City sector of Guangzhou City, soon to be the Intelligent Manufacturing Center of China. The project started in April 2022 and was completed in August 2022.

One of the challenges that Wang faced was to cater to the customers' desire to get away from the hustle of life and change the traditional living form. They hoped that the home could accommodate hobbies and enrich the spiritual world. Wang has successfully met this challenge, creating a space that is not only a home but also a sanctuary for the residents.

Robin Wang's "The Call of Wildness" design has been recognized and awarded the Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2023. This prestigious award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
